Fried Deer Steaks
 
 
Ingredients:
 
Deer steaks, cut ½-inch thick
¼ cup oil
water
 
 
Procedure:
  • Pour oil in bottom of skillet.  Do not preheat skillet.
  • Place deer meat in skillet, and barely cover the meat with water.
  • Cook on medium heat, turning occasionally, allowing the water to boil away.  Check meat for tenderness, and if necessary, add more water periodically.
  • After the meat is very tender, allow water to boil away, leaving the meat to brown in the oil.
  • Turn to brown on both sides.
