Freezer Slaw
 
 
Ingredients:
 
1 gallon cabbage, shredded
1 tablespoon salt
4 small onions, finely chopped
4 cucumbers, finely chopped
2 carrots, shredded
2 small green peppers, finely chopped
1 teaspoon celery seed
2 cups sugar
1 c.up vinegar
½ cup water
 
 
Procedure:
  • Mix cabbage and salt; let stand 30 minutes, drain.
  • Add onions, cucumbers, carrots, celery seed and peppers to the cabbage.
  • Set aside.
  • Boil sugar, vinegar, and water for 1 minute.  Let cool.
  • When cool, pour over the slaw mixture, mixing well.
  • Let stand 5 minutes before putting into freezer containers or bags.
