Spicy Peach Nut Bread
 
Ingredients:
 
2 cups flour

cups sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon soda

¼ teaspoon ground cloves

2 tablespoons softened butter
1 16-ounce can sliced peaches, drained, reserve syrup

½ cup reserved syrup

2 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts
 
 
Procedure:
  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, soda, and ground cloves.
  • Mix in softened butter, reserved syrup, eggs, and peaches with mixer on slow speed, until blended.
  • Turn to medium speed and beat 2 minutes.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350° F for 60-70 minutes.
  • Cool 15 minutes, remove from pan, and let cool completely.
