This is an old recipe.  I can remember my grandmother making this gravy when I was a child.  Of course, Grandma didn't use a recipe, but over the years, members of the family have come up with one so we could pass it along.  Tastes great over hot homemade biscuits!

 
Grandma's Tomato Gravy
 
 
Ingredients:
 
4 tablespoons oil
1 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 cup crushed whole tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

 
 
Procedure:
  • Heat oil in skillet.
  • Add salt, pepper, and flour.
  • Heat and stir about 2 minutes.
  • Add milk and stir.
  • Add tomatoes and stir.
  • Cook till thick and bubbly.
  • Good over hot biscuits.
