Homemade Bread Crumbs

 

Procedure:

  • Keep crusts, heels, and leftover rolls and bread pieces in a paper bag in a warm, dry place until dried out.  Shake bag up occasionally
  • Break into chunks, put into a blender, and blend into crumbs.
  • If there is any dampness in your crumbs, spread them on a cookie sheet and finish drying them in your oven.
  • Store in a tightly closed jar.
  • Use to top casseroles or coat meats by first dipping meat into beaten egg, then in crumbs.
